Covered Pot Cooking
- Rinse the rice thoroughly with water and drain. Add the rice and water to a pot and bring it to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid, and let it simmer for 18-20 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and let it sit for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
- Thanjavur Ponni rice can be served with different curries, stews, and vegetables. It is also used to make idlis, dosas, and other South Indian delicacies.
